Peter Farley has worked in the theatre for over thirty years. He was trained at Wimbledon College of Art, London, and has a Master of Arts degree in Theatre Design/Scenography. Over the past 10 years, Peter’s theatre work has been concerned with producing, devising and designing new work based on classic renaissance plays and other devised work in collaboration with the Director, Jane Collins – including the award winning “Ten Thousand Several Doors”.
Also with Prodigal Peter has designed and costumed the award winning Tragedian Trilogy and Queen of the Slaughter. With the director Gary Sefton, Peter has designed several productions including ‘The Diva in Me’, a new play by Charlotte Jones (2010).
During this time, he has also been an Associate Designer (with Yolanda Sonnabend) for the Royal Ballet at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. He has curated the Society of British Theatre Designer’s National Exhibition, Transformation & Revelation: UK design for performance 2007-2011 in Cardiff, Prague and the V&A. He is Chairman of the Nightingale Theatre, Brighton, a member of the Advisory Panel of the Burton Museum, Bideford and a committee member of The Society of British Theatre Designers.
